Songs That Move Us – Hope More and Company

By Kay Joly Oct 2, 2025 | 4:36 PM

We teamed up with our friends at Hope More & Company to find out which songs resonate with them most. Music connects us all, and we’re excited to share the stories behind their favourite hits—whether it’s a song tied to a big life milestone, a cherished memory, or simply one that inspires them every day.

My song is Home by Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros.

2009: Our anniversary is October the 2nd and it’ll be 32 years and Home is with each other.

My song is Hey Soul Sister by Train.

My son Henry and I always sing it together. When it comes on we both stop what we’re doing, come together to sing and dance. This makes us laugh and giggle non stop, it’s so amazing.

My song is Blinded by the Light by Manfred Mann’s Earth Band.

This song is meaningful to me because I remember in Grade 1 for Father’s Day we burned CD’s for our dad’s and this song was on my dad’s CD and I looooved listening to it with him. Still one of my favourites to this day

My song is Moon Shadow by Cat Stevens.

Listened to it with my family and mother used it as a lullaby. Such a relaxing a peaceful song with great memories attached and always look forward to the day I have children (don’t know if I’m delusional or not lol) and be able to share and enjoy the song with them.

My song is Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond.

I am a huge Neil Diamond fan, love his music.  I can’t pin it down to a moment really, just that whenever I hear it, I stop what I’m doing and listen, and maybe sing-a-long (although my kids would prefer I didn’t sing along, they say I can’t sing!?!?) 😂

Amanda Townsend

My song is American Woman by The Guess Who.

This was my father’s favourite song, he would dramatically play it and attempt to sing it every time I was in a mood, trying to make me laugh, which he was always successful doing.
